BATTERSEA PARK

2019

Here in London, you can go for picnics and have a barbecue; you can go to a park and wear bare feet, much like New Zealand. But there's just so much buzz going on; you can be inspired by anything and everything. There's always something to do. Always.”

Located on the south bank of the River Thames in he London Borough of Wandsworth, Battersea Park is a 200-acre Grade II* listed green space that opened in 1858 on marshland reclaimed from the Thames.

Whenever it’s sunny in London, I hate being stuck indoors all day with nothing to do, so my camera gives me a great excuse to leave the house and head somewhere new. On this particular occasion I decided to venture across the river to Battersea Park and realised that, similar to Hyde Park, when in the park you’d never know you were still in the capital until turning the corner and seeing the chimneys of Battersea Power Station poking out from behind the trees. The peaceful surroundings and gentle breeze on the water make it a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
